About

Located just 75 miles from St. Paul near Balsam Lake, WI, this property on White Ash Lake is a classic ‘cabin’ with 3 bedrooms, one bath, and a basement with storage and laundry facilities. The property has 202 feet of private lakeshore with a lower landing that has a wonderful fire pit and a great flagpole to display your family’s patriotism, and/or affiliations.

There is a large east facing deck off the back of the cabin that is an inviting place to take in breezes and gorgeous lake views. White Ash is a smaller lake, 147 acres, but the Apple River flows through it, and the ‘wide expanse’ in the river invites a multitude of wildlife, including bald eagles, trumpeter swans, and a variety of birds and indigenous animals that make evening boat cruises memorable. A channel makes the lake accessible to 116-acre Upper White Ash Lake as well.

The property comes with a shed, and enough stacked cordwood to fire a huge stone fireplace for years, and the cabin is ideal for families that enjoy four-season visits to ‘the lake’ for summer escapes and winter expeditions for ice fishing, snowmobiling, or just plain relaxing. Prominent snow and biking trails run past the cabin just across the road and Pap’s General Store, less than a mile away, carries every convenience a cabin owner could ever imagine.

White Ash isn’t Gull Lake, or Hayward, but this little gem is a perfect place for a family looking for multiple seasons of fun and escape that is less than an hour and a half from the Twin Cities.  The cabin also features forced/central air conditioning, and the roof, furnace, and water heater are all brand new.

The property will be for sale by owner and listed at $350k.

Pap's General Store is just a couple of minutes from the cabin. If Pap's doesn't have it, you don't need it.

The Balsam Lake Area is a very popular vacation destination with a long list of things to do beyond being at a cabin.  There are many restaurants in the area and three wineries a short drive away.
